Panoramic evaluation of wind turbines in China

In recent years, wind power in emerging markets has developed rapidly. Against the backdrop of national policy support and tight energy supply, China’s wind power industry, especially wind power equipment manufacturing, has also rapidly risen, becoming the most active venue for global wind power. In 2006, 9% of global wind power funds were invested in China, with a total amount of 1.62 billion euros (approximately 16.27 billion yuan). In 2007, China’s wind power installed capacity ranked fifth in the world.

The “Comprehensive Assessment and Development Trend Research Report on Chinese Wind Power Generators” analyzes China’s huge wind power market and cheap labor costs, which has attracted a large number of foreign wind power giants to set up factories in China or adopt joint ventures with domestic enterprises, and the products produced are labeled as made in China. Chinese made wind power equipment products are occupying an increasing market share, and wind turbine products are undergoing a transformation from global manufacturing to Chinese manufacturing.

Wind energy, as a clean and renewable energy source, is increasingly receiving attention from countries around the world. China has a large and widely distributed wind energy reserve, with only about 253 million kilowatts of wind energy stored on land. In the past five years, the world wind energy market has grown at a rate of 40% annually. It is expected that the world wind energy market will increase by 25% annually in the next 20-25 years. Now, the cost of wind power generation has dropped to one fifth of what it was in 1980. With the advancement of technology and the development of environmental protection, wind power generation will fully compete with coal-fired power generation in commerce. With the continuous intensification of competition in the power industry, excellent domestic power companies are increasingly paying attention to research on the industry market, especially in-depth research on the industrial environment.

With the rapid development of the wind power industry in recent years, the manufacturing technology of large-scale wind turbines in China has become more mature. As the core technology of wind turbines, wind turbine control technology is monopolized by foreign countries; At the same time, due to the poor quality of wind power generation, the problem of wind farm grid connection has become another major bottleneck restricting the development of wind power, and solving the problem of large-scale wind power grid connection is urgent.

This project aims to conduct research on the two major technical fields of wind turbine control system control and wind farm grid connection that constrain the development of wind power in China, and develop a 2.0MW wind turbine main control, variable pitch, and variable current system with independent intellectual property rights; Build a control system simulation test platform and a full power converter test platform. Develop a wind farm grid connected full dynamic reactive power compensation device, effectively solve the problem of wind power grid connected power quality, and build a wind farm grid connected full dynamic reactive power compensation device test platform. Simultaneously developing an online monitoring and fault diagnosis system for wind turbines to ensure their safe operation.
